- The white owl could easily represent Hedwig, Harry’s familiar. Harry’s owl was a Snowy Owl, so there’s that - however, this might pass the test with a little imagination! Either way, they are a cute pair of heavy bookends to hold your desktop library in place, or to look awesome on your bookshelf.
- Owls are hot these days, owl parties, owl towels, owl nurseries. You name it, there is an owl theme to go along with it. I wanted to feature some great owl products I have.

Owls are reproduced in ceramics since the most ancient times, as they are highly symbolic creatures. They were often functional objects such as a vase or a bookend : a bottle of water in the shape of an owl was often kept on the night table because the owl was thought capable of ward off evil spirits. The owl is also a symbol of knowledge, wisdom, perspicacity and erudition : in Greek mythology, a little owl traditionally represents or accompanies Athena , the virgin goddess of wisdom, or Minerva, her incarnation in Roman mythology.
